Position Overview
Texas Cordia Construction is seeking an experienced Excavator Foreman to lead excavation crews on heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the Rio Grande Valley. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge of excavation operations, and the ability to manage crew productivity while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise excavation crews on utility, drainage, and earthwork operations
Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and grade sheets
Coordinate daily work activities with project superintendent and engineers
Operate excavators and ensure proper equipment maintenance and safety checks
Enforce OSHA safety protocols and conduct daily toolbox talks
Maintain daily production logs and communicate progress to management
Manage material deliveries and coordinate with subcontractors on-site
Qualifications
5+ years of excavation experience in heavy civil construction
2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role
Proficient in reading construction plans and specifications
Experience with utility installation (water, sewer, storm drainage)
OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in trenches and around heavy equipment. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
