Position Overview

Texas Cordia Construction is seeking an experienced Dirt Foreman to lead earthwork and grading crews on heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the Rio Grande Valley. This role demands strong leadership, expert knowledge of cut-and-fill operations, GPS grading systems, and the ability to manage crew productivity while upholding strict safety and quality standards.

 

Responsibilities

    Lead and supervise grading, embankment, and earthwork crews
    Manage cut-and-fill operations, subgrade preparation, and compaction activities
    Read and interpret project plans, grade sheets, and specifications
    Coordinate daily activities with project superintendent, surveyors, and engineers
    Operate and oversee dozers, scrapers, motor graders, and compaction equipment
    Enforce OSHA safety protocols and conduct daily toolbox talks
    Maintain daily production logs, track quantities, and communicate progress to management

Qualifications

    5+ years of earthwork/grading experience in heavy civil construction
    2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role
    Proficient with GPS grading systems and construction plans
    Experience with road subgrade, embankments, and site preparation
    OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
    Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
    Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around heavy equipment on active job sites. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
