Position Overview
Texas Cordia Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant / Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing heavy civil construction company. This role involves managing project cost tracking, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings construction industry accounting experience.
Responsibilities
Manage project cost accounting, job costing, and budget tracking
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor invoices
Prepare monthly financial statements and project profitability reports
Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with labor regulations
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger
Support annual audits and tax preparation with accurate documentation
Coordinate with project managers to track change orders and billing
Qualifications
3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, construction industry preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or construction accounting software
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of AIA billing and construction lien waivers
Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage projects a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Physical Requirements
This is a primarily office-based position with occasional visits to active job sites. Standard office hours with flexibility during month-end close and audit periods. Must pass pre-employment background check.
